We are always asked for recommendations on what the 'cheapest' strings are for students or parents on a budget trying to 'get by' with new violin strings. For the money, you might like trying the Zyex or Pro Arte' Strings. Quite honestly though, compared to our violin 'brethren' (i.e. cellos and basses)…violin strings are already cheap enough. For a few extra bucks, get a nice set of Dominants or Evah Pirazzis (for an extra $20 or 30) you will elevate your playing and the sound of your violin as well.
